Hi, I’m Marty. I’m a tall romantic with a Master of Fine Arts degree.
I craft original wedding poems that tell a couple’s unique story. I ask questions to learn what makes their love special — to best celebrate the joy, struggle, and triumph of their singular journey. As an accomplished poet, I’ve learned to listen, observe, and shape emotion and experience into language. And I do it from scratch. It’s like having your very own tortured poets department.

Immortalize Your Love
These poems are commissioned by couples themselves, or are gifted to couples by loved ones. An original wedding or anniversary poem is a totally unique and profoundly moving gift, often unexpectedly so. A great poem telling a beautiful story is a powerful thing.
Along with the custom-written poem, the couple has the option to receive a copy printed on letter-pressed stock, matted and framed. So the poem can serve as both a memorable part of the ceremony and a cherished keepsake for years to come. The poem’s text can also be used for invitations, programs, thank-you notes, and a wide variety of other purposes.

Your original, custom-crafted wedding poem will be printed on your choice of hand-letterpressed stock. It will then be matted and framed to your specifications, selected from a variety of visual options.

How does it work?
We’ll work together to focus in on the story you want to tell and the way you want to tell it.
Detail Gathering: I’ll send you a few questions to help you gather details about the most important aspects of the couple’s journey (how they met, the engagement, the ring, the venue, etc.). You’ll send that information back to me, and I’ll likely reply with some clarifying questions that will help me lay out the blueprint for your poem. These first interactions can also be done over phone or Zoom if you’d like, though by and large most people prefer the convenience of email correspondence.
Drafting: I’ll cobble away at your masterpiece. Within a couple weeks, I’ll email a draft. Spend some time with it, awash in its romantic splendor, while also finalizing your decisions about the visual options.
Edits and Options: We'll discuss any small edits you want to make. One round of revisions is included for free. And, if applicable, you’ll provide your choices for framing, matting, and layout.
Approval: I’ll make the revisions, mock up your poem on your chosen backdrop, and send you the proof for approval. Respond with any last tweaks to the layout, and then we’re ready to finalize!
